Due to continued growth and a recent acquisition which will involve the addition of another 200 team mates, we are seeking a talented Payroll Process Specialist to join our dedicated and supportive team based in Matraville. We embrace hybrid working with a mix of working from home and in the office. You will be supported by a Payroll Officer who is responsible for the day to day operations of payroll.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice to management on payroll related matters including updates for payroll legislation and payroll/taxation queries and scenarios
- Overseeing and improving the overall Payroll Process for the organization
- Ensure Payroll Processes are compliant with state, and national payroll regulations
- Implement Payroll Processing software and tools to automate clerical tasks
- Reviewing payroll data for accuracy, including processing payroll adjustments, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure Meridian Micropay and our SAP General Ledger systems are always in sync
- Liaise with Auditors on all the payroll related queries and reports
- Ensure all the weekly and monthly payroll reports are issued on time
- Prepare all the monthly payroll balance sheet reconciliations
- A minimum of 5 years Payroll experience in a complex, dynamic environment
- Experience in Micropay Meridian and time & attendance systems would be highly regarded
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the aptitude to quickly learn new systems and processes essential.
- A confident communicator who is highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of AU/NZ payroll legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated passion for process improvement and optimisation in payroll systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team and lead projects that enhance Payroll Processes.
