AddressWe have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Systems Specialist to join our Payroll team. We are looking for someone who is energetic, keen to embrace change, has a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
The primary objective of this role is to assist and support Payroll systems and project. Tasks include system maintenance and configuration, superannuation reconciliation and payments, month end and payrun reporting requirements, clearing account reconciliations, EOFY and associated functions as well as any project requirements, and system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations testing.

Your Opportunity...
You'll be joining a team of 10 who look after all the payroll related functions for approximately 5,500 employees nationally. We work on multiple pay cycles (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) and the success of this team is based on being a team player. Your day-to-day will include but not limited to:
- System configuration and maintenance (Pay codes etc)
- Setup and maintain new hierarchy structures in payroll system
- Maintain Payroll related interfaces
- Award and structure maintenance within Workforce planning system
- Modernise and automate current processes
- Captures current processes, tools, systems, or database functionality and makes recommendations for development, improvement, or simplification
- Identification and implementation of improvements to the reporting processes to ensure maximum efficiency
- Continuous review of systems, procedures, and training
- Actively participate in projects as directed
- Perform testing for Payroll Upgrades
- Perform testing for maintenance upgrades
- Track project progress and provide updates to Payroll Manager
- Reconcile Payroll clearing accounts
- Reconciliation and payment of superannuation monthly
- Manager Services Australia portal and process and maintain FCTG and Government Paid Parental Leave payments
- ABS reporting
We’d love to hear from you if you have...
- 3 - 5 years payroll experience or similar role
- Experience working with the Large Payroll Systems and Workforce planning system
- Experience working with Ascender Pay and HumanForce desirable
- Demonstrates sound understanding of Payroll Systems & processes (including leave accruals, payrun processes, master file data, timesheets)
- Experience with understanding legislation including Fair Work (Terminations, Rights of employees, Leave, Contracts) and ability to interpret awards and agreements
- Engaged in finding opportunities that will provide value and learnings to the entire team experience
- Commitment to ongoing personal development
- Focus on relationship building
- Strong knowledge of excel
- Experience working with Ascender Payroll system desirable
