Pearls of Australia (POA) offers authentic experiences on commercial pearl farms at Broken Bay Pearl Farm, Woy Woy & Mooney Mooney on the Central Coast of NSW. Our tours immerse customers in the story of the Australian pearl, history of our local aquaculture industry and the significance of the unique ecosystem in which the native pearl oysters grow. You will be working with our team to educate consumers and add value to their understanding of our quality Australian gems, via our offsite popup retail stores.

Pearl Sales Assistant
Reporting to the Popup Retail Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the team in these main areas:
- Sales of Pearl Jewellery and retail products
- Taking in-person enquiries and tour bookings
- Stock management, cash handling, open and closing venue
You will need good sales and communication skills, a mature attitude, computer skills, ability to work in a small team, and a willingness to multi-task. Previous experience in jewellery and/or high-end retail is necessary. A current police clearance is essential.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a sales role, retail and experience with POS software
- Able to work on a rotating roster
- Able to work unsupervised
- Current police clearance
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a sales role, retail and/or jewellery
- Excellence in customer service
- Attention to detail
- Calm, can-do attitude
- Ability to build meaningful client relationships with a diverse population
- Strong interest in pearls and high-end jewellery
- Strong interest in the natural environment and primary production
- Experience with POS and reservation software – preferably TOWER and Fareharbor
- Current First Aid certificate

Being a small but expanding team means staff can find themselves assisting or filling in for other staff members, you should be flexible and open to new experiences.
This is a casual position at multiple Sydney locations – Bondi, Warringah and Sydney Central for the months of May 2024 to July 2024, with the possibility of ongoing casual work for the right candidate. Successful candidates must be able to provide their own transport. Candidate must be available to work weekends, public holidays, late trading hours and school holidays.
