Coordinator, Peer Connections

  • Employment Type: Full Time (35-hour week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term Role
  • Remuneration: $75,927 - $80,094 (+ 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Location: Kensington NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Why Your Role Matters:

The Coordinator, Peer Connections plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Success, Experience pillar, Student Engagement theme in providing effective coordination and support in the implementation and delivery of student focused peer support and engagement programs.

This is a dynamic position expected to demonstrate proactive, practical, and efficient administrative skills and knowledge. The Peer Connections Coordinator provides project support and contributes towards the upscaling of peer support for student success within the University and student community.

Who You Are:

This role requires an innate understanding of the student experience, for both domestic and international perspectives. A recent graduate, ideally with peer mentoring / club or society experience would be an ideal candidate.

• Completion of a Diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience.

• Experience in the implementation of effective engagement initiatives, preferably with young people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• Possess a solid interest and understanding of issues and challenges facing international and domestic students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and demonstrated ability to contribute to initiatives that enhance the student experience.

• Sound interpersonal, oral and written and communication skills and the ability to liaise with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, make meaningful connections and provide information in an engaging way.

• Proficient computing capabilities, including competency with all Office 365 applications and preferred high competency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and implement them for greater efficiency.

• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work to deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high quality administrative and support.

• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.

• Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
