Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) is the peak body for consumers of mental health services in WA. As a community based not for profit organization, CoMHWA understands, listens, and acts upon the voice of consumers of mental health and the wider community.
About the project
The Peer Pathways project is a West Australian, Statewide helpline for people with mental health challenges, to find the supports needed to promote mental and physical wellbeing. This is primarily a phone-based service and includes identifying needs and having a comprehensive understanding of the range of services available across the State. Please visit the Peer Pathways website for further information: www.peerpathways.org.au
About the role
In this role, you will coordinate and undertake activities that expand peer support services to keep people with experience of mental health issues supported within the community through connection and navigation of services. You will work alongside another Coordinator whose role focuses on team support, working in collaboration with the coordinator, team and manager to set and progress the strategic direction of the project. A core part of this role will be providing Peer support and service navigation on the phone. This role will provide support to the team when the team support Coordinator is not present.
You will collaborate with the team to identify and progress opportunities to develop the service, and you will take carriage of development and maintenance of resources and structures which support the Peer Pathways service. This will include database and directory development, and development of processes supporting induction and training. Mental health is a fast-moving sector, and this role will come with great variety and may see you lend a helping hand on projects and events throughout the year in addition to regular duties.
This is a part-time contract to 30th June 2025 at 60 hours per fortnight.
Due to the nature of this work, this role is office-based with no work from home capacity.
