  • $36.00 - 38.60 per hour (SCHADS Schedule B Level 3 - Depending on education and experience) + 11% Super + 17.5% Leave Loading + Salary Packaging benefits up to $15,899 per annum

About the Program

The Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) program is a collaborative service between Wellways and Monash Health. A Wellways PARC offers an individualised approach to supporting recovery from mental health challenges. There are five PARC sites across the South East Melbourne, including a Women's PARC(Springvale), Youth PARC(Dandenong), Extended PARC (Narre Warren) and two Adult PARCS (Clayton and Narre Warren).

Our multidisciplinary recovery teams are creative, motivated and focused on ensuring positive experiences for participants and their loved ones. All our recovery services value cultural diversity, support and create opportunities for recovery, value peer participation and leadership and are underpinned by evidence-based best practice.

About the opportunity

This is a uniquely rewarding opportunity to connect with and inspire people in our community on their wellbeing journey.

The Peer Worker role is unique as it requires someone with a lived experience of mental health challenges to share their personal experiences of their recovery to engage and empower other individuals in their own pathway towards recovery. Utilising the Wellways Lived Experience Workforce Framework, you will provide guidance and act as a positive role model for PARC participants during their stay.

What do you need:

  • Completion of studies in Mental Health, AOD, Community Services or related field (min Cert 4 or above) or qualifications in a social science (social work, occupational therapy, nursing or psychology)
  • Experience in the field of mental health, community services or disability (highly desirable)
  • Current valid Driver's Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
