The Peer Support Coordinator position is pivotal in the coordination and maintenance of the Queensland Police Services’ Peer Support Program. You will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of an evidence-based Peer Support program, and support the recruitment, selection, training and ongoing development of Peer Support Officers (PSOs) across Queensland.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Coordinate and maintain the network of Peer Support Officers across Queensland, including their recruitment, selection, training, development, promotion, support and supervision within the QPS.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver an integrated and evidence-based Peer Support Program, focused on the biopsychosocial approach to health and wellbeing.
- Develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate contemporaneous, best-practice Peer Support Training and ongoing development programs for Peer Support Officers.
- Develop, monitor and review processes and policies for the coordination and delivery of the Peer Support Officer Program.
- Review and analyse trends of Peer Support Officer recruitment, calls for service, development and performance to inform the ongoing delivery of the Program and areas of need.
- Maintain professional case notes in accordance with relevant professional codes of ethics and Service Policy and ensure the appropriate and secure storage of these materials in compliance with the Queensland Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory:
Registration as a Psychologist, membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or membership with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). C Class drivers' licence and intrastate travel is a requirement of this position.
Qualification:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology.
