The Crisis Support Space - Redlands are looking for a Peer Worker to join their team. The Crisis Support Space will offer short-term peer and clinical support to people experiencing mental distress and/or suicidality in a “home like” environment, as an alternative or adjunct to emergency department.

About the Role
Through sharing the learnings and wisdom from the personal lived/living experience perspective:
• Provide personalised peer support and practical assistance to consumers to inspire hope and the belief that recovery is possible.
• Assist presenting consumers, key service providers and non-government organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework.
• Inspire and support consumers through tailored education, information, referrals, and personalised support to learn the skills and knowledge to build resilience for mental and physical healthcare needs and to engage in their community.
• Model recovery strategies to enable rehabilitation of consumers who are in crisis.
• Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived/living experience of mental health, substance use and/or suicide.
