About the Opportunity
Located in New Town, the People and Culture team provides high-level human resources support, mentorship, and consultancy across all the Archdiocese’s agencies on a state-wide basis.
The People and Culture Business Partner will report to the Director People and Culture and will work across a diverse range of industry sectors. You will engage with leaders, provide expert advice and support and drive transformation initiatives that support the business and our people strategies. You will work to balance the people and commercial landscapes to achieve business outcomes and results.
This role has a human resources generalist focus on managing all aspects of human resources including policy development, recruitment and selection, learning and development, industrial relations and employee relations, performance management, remuneration, risk management, and reporting.
As a people-focused, results-oriented professional you will strive to meet the key functions of the role:
- Provide timely day-to-day People & Culture advice, support and consultancy to managers and employees.
- Upskill People Leaders to ensure they are fully empowered to lead their team members across the employee lifecycle.
- Provide guidance, support and coaching on a broad range of ER/IR matters.
- Drive a values-aligned culture and encourage continuous feedback.
- Assist with human resources strategy including performance, talent, recruitment, and organisational design.
- Partner and collaborate with leaders across the organisation to ensure the ongoing alignment, integration, and embedding of the People and Culture strategy.

You must be flexible and adaptable and demonstrate previous experience in a People and Culture Business Partner role, ideally, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a true human resources generalist.
At a minimum you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor level or higher) in Human Resources Management, Law, Business Administration, or relevant work experience.
- The ability to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships.
- Experience across relevant legislation, awards, policies, and human resources best practice.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner.
- Resilience and the ability to multi-task, live our values and thrive in a dynamic, agile workplace.
The successful applicant will also require a current driver's licence, a National Police Criminal History Check and current and valid registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
