Job description

Are you a visionary leader and innovator with a passion for the Performing Arts? Do you thrive on creating unforgettable experiences and managing dynamic venues?

Do you want to work in an environment where your skills and ideas will be valued, and your efforts will directly contribute to our community?

We are looking for a showstopper to lead our team, unleash their creative leadership and be the driving force behind our commitment to excellence in business and live entertainment

The show:

The Shedley Theatre, Playford Civic Centre, our community halls and co-working facilities are contemporary, vibrant and action filled spaces at the heart of our communities cultural, business and social lives.

As the Manager, you’ll be the strategic thinker and business development extraordinaire at the forefront shaping the work of our Performing Arts and business spaces. You’ll facilitate connections among our community members and play an important role in bringing people together through innovative and inclusive programs, events and initiatives

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading our team to maintain an environment of engagement where our employees work collaboratively, achieve their goals and effectively balance commercial results with community benefit.
  • Build relationships with local artists, cultural organisations, business and community groups.
  • Ensure that our spaces continue to be vibrant community hubs filled with activity.
  • Take charge of the day-to-day operations of the crown jewel of our community, leading the strategy for the Shedley Theatre and creating a vision that will help us bring the arts to our community’s doorstep.
  • Oversee operational activities for the Stretton Centre, supporting local business and job creation in Playford.
  • Make sure our spaces continue to be functional, accessible, safe and inclusive for all of our community members.

As the new Manager of our team, you’ll bring

  • Previous leadership and operational management experience to help you with getting some quick wins on the board.
  • Proven experience in project management and business development in a creative environment.
  • A knack for forging meaningful connections and partnerships.
  • Fearlessness in experimenting with bold and unconventional ideas.
  • A deep understanding of balancing community and commercial needs.
  • Ability to juggle responsibilities like a pro.
  • Charisma, innovation, and fun to create a workplace where the team thrive, and success feels like a natural part of the journey.

What’s in it for you

We’re not your typical 9-to-5. Whether you’re an early riser, you need to drop the kids off or you need to work from home, you can embrace true flexibility that works for you. Sometimes you’ll need to stay back in the evening or come in on the weekend because that’s what our community needs.

We care about what you achieve and want to get the best out of you. We embrace autonomy, diverse working styles and celebrate the uniqueness that every team member brings to the table. Meet your deadlines, exceed expectations, and enjoy the freedom to manage your workload in a way that works best for you.

Full time, 5-year fixed term contract

A real opportunity to make a difference in our community
