Acting Leader of Learning - Performing Arts – Contract Role

Contract Details: This position offers a 14-month contract commencing on 29 April 2024 providing an 8-week transition period. During the transition period, there will be a flexible music teaching component across year levels Reception through Year 8, allowing for a seamless integration into the leadership role.
Role Overview: As Acting Leader of Learning - Performing Arts, you will be at the helm of our dynamic Performing Arts department. Your role will involve:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses various aspects of Performing Arts, including drama, music, dance, and more.
- Collaborating with other faculty members to integrate Performing Arts into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Organising and overseeing performances, showcases, and competitions to provide students with opportunities to shine on stage.
- Fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and express themselves.
Requirements: We are seeking candidates who possess:
- A strong background in Performing Arts education, with experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to staying updated on current trends and best practices in Performing Arts education.
- Leadership qualities, including organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
- Experience in directing ensembles will be viewed favorably.
