About the role
The Perinatal Community Team see parents/families through pregnancy and up until the infant is 12 months of age. People often associate perinatal mental health with women or mothers, but we recognize the diversity in parenting and the unique needs and can provide treatment for all parents including dads.
We work collaboratively with families to assess and treat the mental health of the parent and support and strengthen the attachment and relationship between parent and infant within your home environment.
- provide a range of biological, psychological and family focused community-based treatments
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to formulate treatment interventions and evaluate outcomes
- Work within the recovery-oriented practice framework
- Demonstrate leadership to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Provide contemporary consumer-led, family inclusive treatment approaches
We're looking to recruit a Senior Perinatal Clinician- Mental Health with the professional registration/qualification of either Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist)
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial mental health assessments with perinatal mental health focus
- Implement evidence-based treatments in group and individual settings
- Caseload management including accurate and timely documentation
- Work in accordance to legislative requirements, and organisational governance documents
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior workforce members
- Promote optimal parent-infant relationships in context of complex presentations

This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024. The classification is Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 (NP75-NP77) $56.07 - $60.38 per hour.
