Offering 507-beds, services include an emergency department, operating theatres, endoscopy suites, birth suite and maternity ward, medical library and education center.Your RoleAt St John of God Murdoch Hospital we have a strong focus on professional development. We believe in providing opportunities to grow and develop our caregivers who are looking to advance their career pathway and reach their full potential.We are currently seeking internal applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified Enrolled or Registered Nurses to participate in our six (6) month Discovery Programme (Scrub Scout Nursing).The successful applicants will be contracted to 70 hours a fortnight for the duration of the programme and will be expected to work across a variety of shifts Monday to Friday on a rotating roster.The course supports the participants to develop their confidence and competence in delivering introductory level, safe, quality care in an acute learning environment, with the assistance of online modules, mentors and LOD facilitators.You wil be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner.The Position Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence.Delivers a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards.Acts as the patient's advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals.Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.Participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care.Prioritises workload using resources effectively.Functions within legal and registration constraints in relation to nursing practice.The program will commence 15th April 2024 to the 13th October 2024.With recent clinical experience you will have well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, problem solving and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.To succeed you will hold Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Enrolled/Registered Nurse with a minimm of 12 months of post registration experience, along with a commitment to personal and professional development.Above all, patient care will be at the core of everyting you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.We can offer youSalary: Enrolled Nurse Salary commencing at $69,304, plus 11% superannuation Registered Nurse Salary commencing at $74,748, plus 11% superannuationA 6 month fixed term position, working 35 hours per weekGenerous salary packaging options Up to $15,900 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, or other everyday living expensesUp to $2650 on meal entertainment, holiday accommodation and venue hireAccess to novated leasing to use pre-tax dollars for a car and expensesA healthy work-life balance through flexible work options, additional purchased leave & well-being programsEmployee discount on St John of God Hospital & Medical Services and Private Health InsuranceEmployee support through our dedicated free Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Innovative Professional Development opportunitiesAccess to a range of Lifestyle, Health & Wellbeing rewards & discountsAll applicants are asked to submit a covering letter (of no more than two (2) pages) demonstrating how you meet the requirements of the roleSt John of God Health Care embraces diversity and strongly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people with disabilities.
