Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation's leading sugar and renewable energy company. We are Australia's largest raw sugar manufacturer and exporter. Wilmar Sugar's Farm team operates one of Australia's most advanced sugarcane farming operations. We farm around 7,000 hectares of agricultural land within the Herbert, Burdekin, Proserpine and Plane Creek milling regions, producing more than 500,000 tonnes of cane that supply our eight sugar mills in North Queensland. We invest heavily in innovation, research and development and continually look for ways to use new technologies and farm practices supporting environmental sustainability.
About the Role
Wilmar's Cane Farms are seeking highly motivated, hands-on people to fill several Permanent Farm Hand positions based at Mona Park Farm, approx. 25 minutes southwest of Ayr.
These positions require someone who is self-motivated, is keen to learn about Wilmar's sugarcane farming operations, and is open to professional development opportunities.
The opportunity
While the following are requirements in this role, we are prepared to provide training to people who possess the right aptitude:
- Driver Licence "C Class"
- General Tractor driving experience
- Irrigation experience would be beneficial
- Row cropping experience would be beneficial
- Basic maintenance and mechanical skills would be beneficial
Applicants with the following attributes will be highly regarded:
- Driver Licence "HR Class"
- Good communication skills - Written, Spoken, Listening.
