THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Permit & Isolation Officer - commissioning is responsible for ensuring the Pilbara Minerals isolations and permitting process is adhered to and executed safely and efficiently.  This will includes the planning, developing and executing Simple Isolations, Complex Isolations and Boundary Isolations in the Projects areas and Operating plant.   

This position is specific to the Pilgan plant and operates on 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.  Flexibility in rostering to cover the Shutdown schedule on occasion would be expected.

Key responsibilities also include:

• Ensure permits are prepared and remain compliant with our procedures throughout the permit to work and Isolation process.
• Confirm hazards and controls are clearly defined and signed off by an authorised representative.
• Design isolation plans to ensure plant equipment is intrinsically safe to work on.
• Manage the Boundary Isolation process within the project’s areas.
• Coordinate with Project Supervision to ensure equipment isolation is undertaken safely and in the correct sequence.
• Manage the Permit office and equipment required to execute the Permit and Isolation requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

• Previous Experience in a Project commissioning environment as a Permits and Isolation Officer.
• Possess a mechanical and/or electrical trade qualification or have previous extensive experience as a plant operator.
• Experience in the administration and execution of Boundary Isolations
• Experience in fixed operating plant or equipment in the mining industry
• Ability to read and understand P&ID and Electrical Single line drawings to create isolation plans
• Sound knowledge of mining, safety and environmental legislation
• Intermediate Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Project (desirable)
• An excellent communicator with the ability to give clear and concise instructions.
• Current WA Driver’s licence is essential.
