Our Ron Conn Nursing Home, located in Avondale Heights, provides high quality accommodation and care to older people who require assistance with daily living and Personal Care.
Your new role
We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our Ron Conn nursing home on a Part Time basis. The schedule will include a total of 30 hours every two weeks, to be split over 3 overnight shifts.
The roster is as below:
Week 1: Thursday (2130 – 0730)
Week 2: Wednesday (2130 – 0730) & Sunday (2130 – 0730)
Successful applicants will have the capacity to fulfill all the above shifts
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Assisting residents with Personal Care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
- To observe and report changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
- To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
- To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
- Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
- Providing emotional support to residents.
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
- Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.
Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
