Experience with memory support unit/
Dementia Care/ High Care preferred
Permanent part time available
Monday to Sunday
AM- 7.15am to 3.00pm
PM 2.45pm to 9.30pm
Candidates will need to commit to a bare minimum of 5-6 permanent shifts per fortnight but can work up to a maximum of 10 permanent shifts per fortnight!
$29- $31 p/hr base (depending on skills/experience)
+ 11% Superannuation + not for profit packaging

About the role ...
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Personal Care Assistant for our brand new Residential Aged Care Facility in Carrum Downs. Achieve work/life balance by working closer to home and trade the busyness of the city for a more idyllic suburban pace.
Our ideal incumbent will thrive on building strong rapport with our valuable elders and their families, delivering over and above quality care by supporting their daily care needs, completing vital documentation and being a strong contributor to a passionate team!
In a role with plenty of variety, your experience, motivation, flexibility and collaborative approach to quality service delivery will be highly regarded. Experience with a Memory support / Dementia Care/ High Care is preferred.
About you ...
You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum Cert III (Aged Care)
- Cert IV (Aged Care) highly advantageous but not essential
Skills:
- The ability to work with frail and/or confused elders and their families within the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
- The ability to accept direction and to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- The ability or willingness to speak/learn Dutch and an understanding of the Dutch culture and history
- The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment
- Basic knowledge of the ageing process
- Demonstrated basic computer skills
- Recognise own abilities and level of competence
- To have a basic knowledge of Work Health and Safety procedures
- Experience with a Memory support unit/ Dementia Care/ High Care is preferred
A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current influenza and COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.
A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
