Role Overview: As a Personal Carer/Aged Carer at YH Support Services, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, person-centered care to our clients. Your compassion, dedication, and professionalism will contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and elderly clients. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure the well-being of our clients in South Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and exercises.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as required.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Follow care plans and document care provided accurately.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Respect and uphold client confidentiality and dignity.
- Assist patients with their mobility, transportation, and communication needs.
- Participate in planning the care of individuals.
- Follow therapy and support plans, including interventions to assist those with behavioral problems.
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions and address complaints about care.
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises, basic treatments, and delivering medications.
- Provide direct support and assistance to therapists.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, or equivalent or 2 years experience as a substitute.
- Previous experience in a similar role is required.
- First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
