I am looking for people in Cairns, Mareeba/Atherton and Port Douglas/Mossman areas.
I am looking for someone who has genuine passion for supporting people in their homes and out in community. Someone who understands the value of being kind and compassionate, and practices this in their Personal Carer role. You will understand that consumers have good and bad days, and that we are there to support them.
I am not a large corporate provider where profits and key-performance indicators are the driver. My business drivers are personalised, compassionate and high-quality care whilst striving to remain cost-effective.
You must be motivated and able to think ahead about what may need to be done for the client that they may not have asked, or you have noted needs to be done - this means to use your critical reasoning skills within your scope to get things done without needing to be told.
Clients are mostly aged care (home care packages) however the future aim is to diversify into other areas including NDIS.
You will have support from a Registered Nurse and ongoing professional development. At this stage, the position is a casual role whilst the business grows and expands. Most work will be Monday to Friday although there may be the odd weekend shift available. Shifts are mostly between 8am to 5pm but again clients may request services outside of these hours. Where the hours are outside of 8am to 5pm or in a weekend I let staff know to see if anyone is available.
Requirements you will need include:
- Certificate III in individual support or equivalent qualification in aged care/disability OR a nursing student who has completed their first year and first clinical placement successfully (if you are currently completing your cert III but are not yet done please feel free to apply and we may be able to discuss your application)
- Have a current police check
- Have a Blue Card
- Have NDIS Workers screen
- Have own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and registered
- Have current first aid and CPR
In your role as a Personal Carer you may do duties which include:

- Transport
- Meal preparation
- Medication assistance
- Flexible respite
- Wellness and reablement
