Join a successful northern council for a 3-6 month contract in the Verges team as a Pest and Weed team.

Your new role
As a Pest and Weed Technician, you will be required to deliver efficient and cost-effective maintenance services within the city's operation team.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Maintenance and upkeep of all weed control in communal areas such as verges, kerbs, gutters, median strips, fence lines, ovals and reserves.
- Removal and disposal of declared pest plants without council lines.
- Use of fogging machine for removal and eradication of pest insects such as bees and wasps.
- Use of mechanical tools to do minor ground and garden work like weeding, hedging and pruning.
- Successfully follow all guidelines and procedures relevant to all Pest and Weed control.
- Comply with all health and safety guidelines to ensure all safe operating procedures.
- Display safe practices with all chemical and biological products.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Grade 3 Pest and Weed management licence or Cert 3 in Conservation and Land Management.
- Current MR licence.
- Chainsaw licence
- WZTM
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Pest and Weed control.
- Previous work experience in the horticulture industry.
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritise and meet all allocated deadlines.
Not essential but highly regarded tickets and experiences:
- Any heavy vehicle tickets eg, Front end loader, Skid Steer, Roller Licence, Excavator, Backhoe, EWP, Forklift.
- Front deck mower experience.
- Cert 3 in civil construction.
