The Role
Phone-heavy, making/taking up to 60 phone calls per day. Cold-calling breeders of cats/dogs to share value of the Breeder Program.
Full-time role - rotating across 6 days, located in Port Macquarie office, NSW. Wage commensurate with experience. No caps on bonuses/commissions.
Success is through calls - adding breeders to our program/gaining pets & members joining Trupanion and staying with us.
Inbound Queries (lead) – phone, chat, email
Outbound Follow-ups – Phone, chat, email (overflow or other)
An understanding of dog and cat medical needs and/or experience within a veterinary team would be helpful.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Initially 60% workload is Outbound cold calls to breeder leads.
- 35% workload - maintaining existing relationships.
- 5% workload is Overflow Inbound/Outbound Sales calls with Pet Owners
- As your book grows you will need to maintain your participating breeder relationships whilst still cold calling leads.
- Convey value of our product to Breeders & Pet Owners
- Professional and efficient use of email
- Achieve monthly goals
- Report results regularly to stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with, and solve breeder's issues
Experience:
- Cold-Calling
- Explaining value to external clients
- Sales Inbound/Outbound
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Genuine desire to help pets
- Working in a Veterinary team - preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Sales experience - know how to solve objections, meet targets.
- Relationship builder – make friends over the phone and maintain them
- Results-driven and self-motivated and highly resilient.
- Triage tasks to support participating breeders while taking calls
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, positive, collaborative mindset
- Emotionally aware and personable; relating to a wide variety of people
- Good attention to detail, accuracy and completeness
- Generate ideas for improvement, take advantage of opportunities
- Structured work approach and good time management skills
- Self-motivated when working alone and cooperatively in a team
