Weekly Pay Rate is determined by age, includes holiday pay, sick pay. Plus Superannuation.
Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm is a successful family owned and operated business based in John Street, HENLEY BROOK. The position of Petting Farm worker is to assist with the smooth running of the business, welfare of the animals, welfare of customers visiting the farm and Traveling Mobile Farms
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
2. Duty of care2. – Mindful at all times of the safety of visitors to the farm.
3. Animal care and welfare.
4. Health and Safety 4. of all farm visitors, staff, and animals.
5. Maintain a clean and tidy premises, vehicles and environment at all time.
6. Storing and maintaining materials, equipment and tools
7. Identifying and escalating Animal Welfare, hazards and risks.
8. Monitoring and reporting to Management all repair and maintenance issues.
10. Animal husbandry, drenching, foot/hoof care etc
11. Minor veterinary procedures.
12. Communication with and Management 12. with regards to all matters in relation to animal and farm visitors’ welfare and any matter which may impact on the reputation and smooth running of the business namely the SWAN VALLEY CUDDLY ANIMAL FARM.
13. Monitoring and reporting to Management all repair and maintenance issues.
14. Hosting of groups at the farm, ie. Birthday Parties, seniors’ groups, schools, corporate groups and special needs groups.
15. Assisting when necessary, Animal Care Professionals when they are attending to Cuddly Farm animals, ie. Veterinarian, Shearer, Farrier, Dentist.
16. Operating farm equipment and machinery and vehicles16. responsibly and according to Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm procedures, duty of care and OHS requirements.
Ie. Tractor, tractor train, merry go round, high pressure cleaner, blower vac, farm vehicles etc.
1. Crew a traveling animal farm when requested by Management.
2. Various other tasks as requested by Management.
To be successful in this role you will;
• Have the ability to undertake strenuous work activities for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions
• Completing manual handling duties: lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and reaching
• Being an active, respectful team member that is reliable and honours work commitments.

• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Have effective problem-solving abilities.
• Have tractor and machinery experience (preferred)
• Large Animal handling/husbandry experience (preferred)
• Have your own reliable transport.
• Current driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children check and police clearance.
• Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly and systematically in accordance with policies and standards.
• Ability to understand, correctly interpret and follow instructions, procedures and information.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• To be able to successfully communicate written and verbally
• Interact confidently with a wide range of [people from diverse backgrounds.
• A record showing work commitment, reliability, and motivation.
• Ability to respond calmly and methodically when faced with obstacles.
• Good level of fitness is required as you will manually handle up to 5kg- 20kg.
