Job description

Operational Pharmacist Grade 1 and 2 – Part-time, fixed-term (12 months)

About the Role

This is fixed-term part-time position at 32 hours per fortnight on Mondays and Tuesdays each week within the Pharmacy Department.

You will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality Pharmacy Services within the Outpatient and sterile unit at The Royals Children’s Hospital.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Develop and maintain expertise in specialist paediatric pharmacy.
  • Be trained to perform sterile manufacturing.
  • Assist with supervising and training pharmacy interns and students.

Classification for these positions will range from SW5-SX5 depending on qualification and experience.

Your skills and experience:

  • Registered to practice as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & your name will appear on the register.
  • Experience in Hospital Pharmacy (significant for Grade 2)
  • Active participation with professional bodies (Grade 2)
  • Experience with undertaking audits or developing guidelines (Grade 2)

About The Pharmacy Department:

We are a team of around 70 staff including pharmacists, technicians, and administrators. Our supportive and collaborative teams include Outpatients, Children’s Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical trials, and Medicines Information, HiTH and Sterile Services and the Pharmacy Business Unit.

Other requirements:

  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children Check
