Where you'll be working
The role will be primarily based at the St George Hospital and may be required to work at different locations and departments within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
The St George Hospital is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales, the largest hospital within the Local Health District, and among the leading centres for trauma and emergency management in the State.
What you'll be doing
To provide clinical pharmacy services across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) to optimise safe and appropriate medication usage. The position will rotate through a variety of clinical, operational (dispensary) and production teams on a rotation schedule.
SESLHD Pharmacy Services is an extended hours service across the seven-day week. The role requires the ability to participate in a seven-day week roster that includes flexible hours, on call, afterhours, weekends and public holidays.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

- Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to a Grade 1 Pharmacist level meeting the criteria set out in the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award.
- Demonstrated effective clinical drug knowledge and competence in its application to achieve safe and efficient quality of care.
- Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and other stakeholders to improve patient care and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with limited supervision to meet team objectives.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiative
- Proven commitment to professional development and continuing education.
