About the role
To assist in the day-to-day running of the Pharmacy Department, under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Duties will include medication distribution (imprest management), computer input, prescription dispensing, sterile and non-sterile preparation, medication re-packing, stock ordering and stock control (inventory management) and liaison with other Pharmacy and Hospital Staff at GV Health and partner sites.
We are looking for
- Have or be willing to work toward getting a Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) from a registered training organisation or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with drug distribution, dispensary, and ward pharmacy support work with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated familiarisation with the use of computer-based pharmacy systems and procedures.
- Willingness to take part in working weekends, on public holidays and off-site as required.

Selection Criteria

- Essential : Have or work toward getting a Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) from a registered training organisation or equivalent qualification (as approved by the Victorian Pharmacy Authority or equivalent body) within the first 12 months of starting this role.
- Desirable : Experience with drug distribution, dispensary, ward pharmacy support work and excellent communication skills.
- Essential : Willingness to take part in working weekends, public holidays, and off-sites as required.
- Essential : Current valid driver’s licence
- Essential : Evidence of full immunisation against COVID-19 and influenza vaccine
- Essential : Satisfactory National History Criminal and Victorian ‘Employee’ Working with Children Check prior to commencement of employment
