We're seeking a dynamic Philanthropy and Sponsorships Manager to join our Development Team. At Carriageworks, approximately two-thirds of our revenue comes from self-generation, making the cultivation of philanthropic and corporate relationships essential for our continued success.

As the Philanthropy and Sponsorships Manager, you'll be at the forefront of developing and nurturing both new and existing partnerships to support our organisation's priorities. Your role will involve building robust relationships to secure philanthropic and sponsorship support, ensuring the seamless delivery of benefits and effective stewardship of funding relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DAY TO DAY

Philanthropy

• Support the implementation of a robust, on-going Development strategy in collaboration with the Head of Development, including targets and strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective partners and donors, particularly within the $10,000 to $100,000 range.
• Maintain excellent donor relationship management and communication.
• Create on-brand and memorable fundraising initiatives, campaigns and events to maximise donor retention and cultivation.
• Work with Head of Development to develop compelling presentations and proposals for supporting Carriageworks programs.
• Contribute to prospect research and seek out additional opportunities from Trusts and Foundations with shared values.
• Welcome and engage with guests who attend Carriageworks’ events including opening nights, performances and VIP events.

Sponsorships

• With support from the Head of Development, identify and secure strategically aligned multi-year sponsorships that deliver genuine financial and/or in-kind benefits for Carriageworks and its programs.
• Effectively manage the existing sponsorship portfolio and relationships and ensure all contract obligations are meet, and measurable results achieved.
• Work with the Head of Development to develop annual income targets for sponsorships.
• Work collaboratively with the program and marketing teams to evaluate the success of sponsorship activations for internal and external reports.
• Create presentation materials to develop new or existing sponsorship opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Experience managing funding relationships, demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and servicing partnership agreements.
• High-level of proficiency using PowerPoint to develop successful proposals and reports.
• Strong administration skills to deliver sponsor activations and donor stewardship.
• Strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service.
• The ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• A broad knowledge of the arts and cultural sectors.
