Who are we?

'Advancedlife' School Photography is one of Australia's leading school photographers with over 3 decades of experience specialising in portrait and group School Photography. We photograph both Primary and Secondary schools with enrolments ranging from 40 to 4000 students. This experience in coordinating, photographing, and delivering school photos means that we are the specialists in making School Photography easy for thousands of Australian schools every day through our unique 'advancedaccess' software programs and specialised printing services.

What Roles do we have available for 2024?

We have 3 types of roles available.

  • Group photographer - This role is for someone who is an experienced photographer who is confident at managing and communicating to large groups of 20 to 1000+ students, who can work alone to set up and organise the building and structure of an exceptional group photograph. This role can also involve coordinating and leading a small team of portrait photographers. You will also be expected to transport equipment to and from locations in one of our company vehicles.

Specific training and all equipment is provided prior to commencement.

  • Portrait photographer - This role is suitable for anyone who has an upbeat, friendly personality and a who has a natural ability in making kids smile, of course your attention to detail will ensure we capture this smile as a keepsake for years to come.  You will need to be proactive in problem solving to overcome unforeseen equipment, people or timeframe issues to ensure photo day proceeds as planned. As we photograph within time restraints, any issues will need to be resolved quickly and effectively. Previous School Photography and/or portraiture experience is desirable for but not essential for this role.

Specific training and all equipment is provided prior to commencement in this role also. 

  • Photography field support assistant - This role also requires exceptional people and organisation skills for a successful photo day from set up to pack down. Your support and leadership on the day will ensure your team on the day are all taking excellent individual portrait photos and /or group photos within the time allocated.
  • In this role you will be the company representative on location demonstrating excellent composure under pressure, communication with children, parents, teachers and school principals to ensure they receive the best possible customer service.
  • You will need to be proactive in problem solving to overcome unforeseen equipment, people, or timeframe issues to ensure photo day proceeds as planned. As we photograph within time restraints, any issues will need to be resolved quickly and effectively. You will be required to actively supervise and assist Photographers and complete all relevant photo day paperwork and liaise with our office staff as required.

In all roles you can expect - 

  • Early starts in school terms 1 and 2 as we’re often onsite at schools from 8am and finish our day by 3pm.
  • You’ll be a responsible and safe driver, occasionally shuttling staff to job sites, delivering equipment and our completed products out into the field.
  • You'll take yours and the safety of everyone very seriously, and report any hazards or near misses to leadership asap.
  • To be well presented and ready to offer exceptional customer service. 
  • To be punctual and reliable at all times.
  • You will be active and required to lift, load and carry a camera and other associated photographic equipment on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Current full driver's license.
  • Current working with children check WWC or the ability to obtain one asap – essential.
  • Strong computer skills are essential.

Other Skills and Experience 

  • Photography Experience and/or qualifications will be an advantage but not necessary as training will be provided.
  • Confident, cheerful, and friendly yet positively assertive to work with large groups.
  • Previous School Photography and/or portraiture experience is desirable for but not essential.
  • Current full driver's license.
  • Current working with children check WWCor the ability to obtain one asap is essential.
  • Experience working with children is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills for dealing with children, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Neat and tidy appearance.
  • Good health and general fitness as this job can be physically demanding and involves lifting and carrying photographic equipment on a daily basis.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident. 

To be considered for any of our roles you may be required to start immediately and will need to have full availability (4-5 day per week) through out term 2.

All equipment, training and uniforms are supplied. 

Term 2 commences on Monday 15th of April.
