Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Care Workers in our aged care facility. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our elderly residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide assistance with mobility, transferring, and positioning as needed.
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
- Engage residents in recreational and social activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and empathy.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in aged care or a related field is preferred
- Compassionate nature and genuine interest in working with the elderly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Cert III or IV in either aged care, Health service assistance or Home and community care.
- Working with children check
