Join our Geriatric Care team as a Physiotherapist and help support our commitment to quality patient care.
The Physiotherapist role provides support to the Senior Physiotherapists in the designated service to provide high quality patients services including providing peer support to Physiotherapists on rotation in the designated service.
The role supports the Geriatric Memory Support Unit which provides care for patients who are medically stable and are waiting transition to a community Residential Aged Care Facility.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology the Physiotherapist role is responsible for:
- Providing appropriate, safe and effective physiotherapy management (assessment and treatment) of patients referred to in the designated service
- Ensuring relevant physiotherapy information is provided by maintaining records (case notes and departmental) and statistical system in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Participate in provision of co-ordinated health care by liaising with medical, nursing and other professional staff regarding patient care in meetings, ward rounds, clinics and providing written reports or other communications
- Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to patients

About you:
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel and maintain effective work relationships, such as the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team situation
- Have Physiotherapy skills in assessment and management of a broad range of conditions
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Experience commensurate with AHP2 peer assessment process requirements
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
