  • Salary - AHP2 -  $86,950 - $100,729 p.a (Pro-rata) -  Part Time - Long Term Contract Up to 30 June 2025 

Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.  We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia’s largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Physiotherapy service provides high-level physiotherapy assessment, advice and management for patients of the Women's and Children's Health Network. The department has three clinical units within paediatrics: Respiratory, Orthopaedic and Neurodevelopmental.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within the Paediatric Rehabilitation team for a Physiotherapist (AHP2) to join us.

The Physiotherapist (CABIRS), Paediatric Rehabilitation is primarily responsible for the implementation and evaluation of high quality and evidence based Physiotherapy services to children and young people with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury, with a large cohort being those who have sustained a concussion. The Physiotherapist may also provide some support and services to those with acquired brain injury, spinal pathology, cerebral palsy and complex rehabilitation needs. Services are predominantly provided to outpatients, with some service provision to inpatients or at outreach locations.

As a key member of the Paediatric Rehabilitation team, the Physiotherapist will encourage and support team work amongst staff for optimal patient outcomes.  The Physiotherapist is responsible to ensure that the continuum of care for clients into the community is seamless.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Ensure the provision and promotion of high quality, efficient and effective Physiotherapy services to children and young people with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and other complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Work collaboratively with patients and families towards patient-led goals
