- The 800 bed RAH is South Australia's flagship hospital providing a comprehensive range of the most complex clinical care to an estimated 85,000 inpatients and 400,000 outpatients each year. Our AHP1 and AHP2 physiotherapists have the opportunity to work across a broad range of specialised clinical areas, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neurosurgery, Stroke/Neurology, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Acute Medicine, Emergency Department, Cancer Services, Outpatient Services, to name a few.
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH)
- The QEH is a 303 bed, acute care hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and mental health services. AHP1 and AHP2 physiotherapists have the opportunity to work across these areas, in addition to the following specialised rehabilitation services based at the QEH:
- Day Rehabilitation Service delivers rehabilitation across a broad range of clinical presentations, with a predominant neurological, vestibular and amputee case load. Physiotherapists work in an outpatient setting, with access to modern gym and telehealth facilities, and as part of a transdisciplinary team that includes allied health, medical and nursing staff.
- Rehabilitation In The Home delivers goal focused rehabilitation programs as part of an interdisciplinary team to patients, in their own home or via telehealth, to maximise recovery from a recent health event.
- Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre (HRC)
- At HRC, our physiotherapists deliver inpatient rehabilitation services to patients recovering from stroke, various neurological and medical disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and amputations. Our AHP1 and AHP2 physiotherapists contribute to the multidisciplinary team approach, bringing together of specialised therapy, nursing, medical, counselling, and other highly trained professionals. This collaborative effort helps patients maximise their functional outcomes, with the goal of returning home.
- Repat Health Precinct is home to CALHN's Statewide Rehabilitation Services, including Spinal Cord Injury Service (SASCIS) and South Australia Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services (SABIRS). Within these units you have the opportunity to work across:
- SA Brain Injury Service (BIRS) incl Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU) -Working as part of an inter-disciplinary team, our physiotherapists deliver essential inpatient, ambulatory and community services to patients recovering from brain injuries. This rewarding role may involve working with individuals facing complex physical disability, behavioural and cognitive difficulties.
- Spinal Unit- In the Spinal Unit, our physiotherapists work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to support patients in regaining mobility, independence, and quality of life following spinal cord injuries and conditions.
