About the Opportunity:
The Physiotherapist is part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible to the Allied Health Manager for the delivery of quality physiotherapy service that is in accordance with contemporary residential aged care practice and that complies with the requirements of Accreditation under the Aged Care Act and of the Australian National Aged Care Classification Funding Model (AN-ACC).
The Physiotherapist works closely with other allied health professionals, Living Well House Managers, Registered and Enrolled Nurses and care staff. The service will periodically involve liaisons with external healthcare professionals and their staff.
This role will require you to be located at our Christies Downs facility
Skills and experience:
- Provide clinical physiotherapy services
- Supporting the delivery of physiotherapy services
- Work in partnership with residents, their families and stakeholders
- Actively engaging and promoting a holistic Well-being model of care to support St Basil’s Living Well philosophy.
- Undertake comprehensive, holistic assessments of residents on admission and as necessary.
- Evaluate the needs of each resident through the process of clinical reasoning to develop individualised care plans to optimise the resident’s mobility and dexterity.
- Reassess each resident regularly and as referred by the clinical team to ensure that their care plan is accurate.
- Deliver resident care in accordance with current professional and ethical standards, evidence-based practice, relevant legislation and common law.
- Participate in quality auditing to ensure appropriate outcomes are achieved.
- Undertake manual handling training and assessment of St Basil’s staff.
- Monitor workplace risks to staff and residents ensuring that Work Health and Safety policy, procedures and guidelines are being adhered to.
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Australian Health and Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply)
- Covid and seasonal influenza vaccination status to be provided
