Bass Coast Health (BCH) is the sub-regional health service for the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shires, with sites at Wonthaggi, Cowes, San Remo.In order to support our rapidly growing population, we're growing our services and the complexity of our organisation. This includes adding a new $115 million hospital expansion and renovated facilities to ensure we meet the increasing health care needs of our region.Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for Grade 1 Physiotherapists to join our Physiotherapy Graduate Program. Our Graduate Program focusses on consolidating skills and experience through structured interprofessional education sessions, study days, supervision, mentoring and clinical support from the Clinical Development Physiotherapist and your clinical supervisor.The successful applicants will be closely supported whilst completing four-month rotations across our clinical areas, which may include the acute medical ward, high acuity/emergency department, inpatient rehabilitation, community outpatient, and aged care settings. Grade 1 Physiotherapists also have opportunities to contribute to group programs such as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Grade 1 Physiotherapists will provide evidence-based assessments and interventions and work closely with our friendly and dynamic multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to our community. Grade 1 Physiotherapists will also be involved in the provision of weekend and public holiday services.Bass Coast Health’s Physiotherapy Team provide acute, sub-acute, community, and aged care services across multiple sites. Our physiotherapy team work closely with nursing, medical, and allied health colleagues to provide holistic, patient-centred care. Our physiotherapy team are dynamic, flexible and supportive. Together, we offer generalist services as well as some specialty services including Lymphoedema, Women’s Health and Paediatric services to our community. We have a strong focus on ‘growing our own’ future regional healthcare leaders and supporting our staff to develop their clinical areas of interest. The team are keen to grow and share their knowledge in a trusting environment where learning is encouraged.Requirements of the position are:Required:

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Physiotherapy, Doctor of Physiotherapy or recognised equivalent
• Current and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Victorian Driver’s licence
• A valid Police Check
• Working with Children’s Check
• NDIS Workers Check
• COVID-19 Vaccination in accordance with the Chief Health officer COVID-19 Mandatory vaccination Directions
• Flu Vaccination

Desirable:

• Demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practice
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
• An understanding of the principles of continuous quality improvement
• Established skills in organisation, planning and priority setting
