We are looking for an experienced Pizza Chef/Cook to join our team at Bank Street Social on a casual working basis and elevate our small successful menu offering to the next stage.
Bank Street Social is an award-winning bar in the west end of Adelaide with a focus on quality cocktails, craft beer, boutique wine, gin and whisky. Open 7 nights a week with late Friday and Saturday service, we are an Adelaide staple delivering the goods week in, week out.
As our pizza chef, you will be passionate about food and proud of what you’re serving. You will be required to work quickly and calmly under pressure while maintaining a consistent high level of quality with attention to detail.
Our kitchen is small and the position would benefit someone who enjoys working autonomously during the week and with a small team on weekends.
The shifts will start in the afternoon and run through into the evenings across a 7-day working roster with time allocated for preparation. Friday and Saturday availability is a requirement for this position.
Duties include:
- The ability to work well autonomously or with a small team in a fast-paced environment
- Managing time through effective planning to maintain a high level of productivity
- High standards of food presentation, cleanliness, punctuality, and organisation
- Ability to place orders, manage costs, maintain stock levels, and minimise food waste
- Setting up and packing down before and after service
- Preparation of all menu items and ingredients
- Maintenance and cleaning of all kitchen equipment
- Strong communication skills
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum 1 year in high-volume pizza making with at least 2 years in kitchens
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation and accountability
- Manage hygiene and safety practices in line with industry standards
- All relevant cooking certificates
Hours of work and the option for full time are negotiable for the right candidate.
