  • HEO 6 Base Salary $95,860- $103,341+ 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
This role will involve coordinating and carrying out negotiations and administrative processes associated with securing and facilitating student placement in schools across all teacher education courses, including Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Health and Physical Education.
This position will have autonomy to make decisions related to work tasks as part of a Professional Experience Team consisting of Academic and Professional Staff. The incumbent will provide timely and accurate advice and information in various forms to stakeholders and students, and be responsible for administering key processes and a range of functions relating to Professional Experience programs in the School
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • liaise with schools in response to queries and resolving procedural issues
  • coordinate and carry out negotiations and administrative processes associated with securing and facilitating student placement in schools across all teacher education courses, including arranging internships
  • exercise judgement in pursuing the most appropriate course of action where difficulties occur during student placement, and refer identified 'at risk' students to Manager or Director if the Manger is on leave
  • enter information into the database and maintain database records on all aspects of professional experience placement
  • provide school staff with accurate information regarding practicum requirements for different programs and negotiate variations
  • negotiate and manage relationships with existing schools and establish links with new schools.
About you
  • experience in negotiating and managing relationships with stakeholders
  • demonstrated high level organisational and advanced administrative skills
  • excellent interpersonal, phone and written communication skills
  • demonstrated capacity to assess priorities and manage a range of tasks and complex issues simultaneously
  • demonstrated ability to work calmly and constructively under sustained pressure
  • ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise work in a high-volume environment
  • excellent database and word processing skills
  • experience of working within tertiary education (desirable)
  • experience using the software 'Sonia' (desirable).
