The Broking team, a core business unit within Aon Risk Solutions, is currently seeking a Sydney or Melbourne based Placement Manager for a role with a predominantly Liability focus.
This role requires the placement of insurance in the Australian market as well as through international channels. You will be involved in the design and placement of liability placements of our larger clients and play a key role in market and client engagement and advising internal key stakeholders on pricing and placement strategy.
Proven negotiation, influencing and relationship management capabilities are vital for this role.

What the day will look like
- Lead the program design for complex placements
- Drive Aon’s go-to-market strategy both externally and internally, including but not limited to Platforms and Facilities
- Establish strong relationships and negotiate insurance contracts with underwriters principally in the Australian, Asian and London markets
- Providing technical advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders on liability products and program structures
- Provide support to the client management teams around retention of key accounts
- Provide support to the Bid Management team around tender responses
This position will suit someone with the following experience:
- In-depth understanding of liability risk from an insurance and reinsurance perspective
- Excellent understanding of the global insurance industry
- Knowledge of the London market with existing network of underwriters would be advantageous
- Experience drafting, interpreting and negotiating policy wordings
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with proven negotiation and conflict resolutions skills
- Management and strategic leadership skills
- Well-developed communication & presentation skills with a highly analytical nature
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry experience
