Primary Location VIC - DandenongJob Description Summary Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria!About the RoleWe’re excited to have been awarded the Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract – South Central Region!Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.Our mission is to deliver safer and more reliable journeys for Victorian road users, keep communities better connected, and create a more sustainable road network. And we need great people to help us do that!Location: Melbourne CBD / Dandenong SouthTarget Start Date: Mid-MayAbout the role:Reporting to the Delivery Manager, the Planned Works Delivery Lead oversees safe, compliant and efficient delivery of VRMC Planned Works, on time and within budget.Specifically, the Planned Works Delivery Lead is accountable for:Onboarding, training and Verification of Competency for all Planned Works Delivery team members, including Delivery Partner (subcontractor) personnelEngaging and managing approved/preferred local Delivery Partners to deliver Planned Maintenance Works, ensuring appropriate resourcing capacity and capability to deliver to the ProgramProviding input to development of the Planned Maintenance Program and working closely with the Pre-Works team and Maintenance Delivery team to schedule and complete works in line with the PM Program while minimising impacts on road users and communities, and maximising resource utilisationLeading daily pre-start meetings and carrying out day-to-day activity and performance management of the Planned Works team, with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiencyDefining, implementing and continually refining Planned Works Delivery processes in line with contractual requirements and data management standardsThe Planned Works Delivery Lead is a potential successor to the Delivery Manager and will have regular opportunities perform this role in an Acting capacity, as part of a structured career development program.About you:You’ll have at least eight years’ experience in capital works project planning and delivery in a road maintenance or civil works environment, including at least five years’ experience leading delivering projects of up to $5 million in value.An established leader who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll demonstrate:Extensive experience managing internal workforces and delivery partners to deliver services to specification, program and costAn inclusive approach to managing and developing your team, underpinned by an ability to make best-for-Contract decisions within your span of controlDetailed knowledge of civil construction and/or road network management practices, including access, permit and licensing requirements for road maintenance operationsExceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.A proactive lead-indicator approach to minimising quality, safety and environmental risks and incidentsFormal qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in a technical discipline are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.Why you should join the VRMC team:
