About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Planner / Project Engineer - Turnaround to join our team based in Kooragang Island located Newcastle NSW. This critical role will be responsible for the detailed planning and work pack development of all scope items assigned by the Planning/Quality Lead - Turnaround and for the management of discrete projects from feasibility through to completion. This role is reporting to Manager - Turnaround Planning.

What you will be doing

For all work orders assigned to you by the turnaround planning/quality lead:

  • Conduct detailed planning in accordance with the basis of planning management plan using the tools provided (planning tools, S4HANA, etc). This will include but not be limited to:
1.1 Identifying and capturing labour, material, tooling and service requirements within the work pack
1.2 Ensuring all materials, tooling and services are ordered in time to ensure the execution of the works
1.3 Confirming the workorder has correct reference objects, WBS, etc
1.4 Ensuring ITPs, flange registers & other quality documents are generated/populated
1.5 Creating/updating task lists for recurring work
  • Generate work packs and submit for review.
  • Carry out work pack revisions arising from review feedback.
  • Review tender submissions related to your work packs and provide support as required to contracts administrator.
  • Provide support as required to execution supervision both before and during execution.
  • Initiate correction of any master data errors or omissions identified during detailed planning activities.
  • Manages the delivery of assigned projects from feasibility through to completion.
  • Seeks to continuously improve their work efficiency. Escalates improvement ideas to your leader and contributes to the lessons learned register.
What you will bring
  • This role is ideally suited to individuals with at least 5 years of experience in maintenance planning &/or project management roles in a heavy industrial environment (strong preference for petrochemical or power industries)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience managing projects and/or planning turnaround work (preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of projects or maintenance on industrial equipment (petrochemical or power industries preferred)
  • Good general computer literacy
  • Competent SAP user (preferred)
  • Competent MS Excel user
