Planning Specialist – This role will support a working-from-home model with the expectancy to travel to the site once a month—12-month contract for the right candidate with extensions possible.
- Brisbane-based opportunity. ( Work from home with site travel once a month )
- Must have experience in the full lifecycle of mining.
- Exciting projects within the capital works team.
The Project Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for the preparation and management of the integrated master schedule. Manage a comprehensive schedule control system, including day-to-day planning activities and include advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis for a variety of different projects throughout the mine site.
Accountabilities:
- Implement Project Planning & Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Company and contractor roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in concert with Project Lead, Project cost engineer and contractor project controls leads, and in conjunction with Project Execution Plans.
- Promote and maintain the overall integration and integrity of contractor schedules and project lead schedules within the Program suite of project schedules.
- Provide interface and quality assurance to Project functional groups and contractors regarding the tracking and reporting of schedule performance.
- Support the Project Team in the implementation of an integrated enterprise based cross functional and contractor master schedule program.
- Preparing Staffing, execution progress reports and customized reports.
- Tertiary qualification in business, accounting, finance or engineering
- Extensive experience in project controls and time/schedule management
- Expert experience level using project scheduling tools, MS Project, Primavera P6 Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Proficient experience with MS Office Suite, MS Visio and MS Project.
- Understand and use Project performance indicators used to measure project progress (EVM, Success Probability Trends, Schedule KPI, etc)
- Prior experience preparing project performance reports by considering earned value, planned budget, actuals and accruals.
