This role will see you work within project teams to help deliver water infrastructure under Council’s capital works program. The role includes the strategic assessment of options, review of Planning and environmental legislation, and obtaining statutory approvals and property consents. There is the opportunity to influence the delivery of water infrastructure projects from the initial feasibility and planning stages, through to business cases, construction and operational phases. You will also help to develop environmental strategies and policies, ensure environmentally sustainable development within the city and provide management support to the Environment and Approvals Lead.
Elements of the role include:
- Review of planning options for water infrastructure projects and contributing to Planning and feasibility studies, business cases and technical reporting.
- Identifying and obtaining all relevant statutory approvals and property consents for the delivery of projects under the Logan Water capital works program.
- Completing statutory approval processes in accordance with Logan Water policies and procedures. Contributing to the review and improvement of our planning, statutory approval and environmental processes.
- Assist in the interpretation of legislation, planning instruments, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct compliance reviews and audits of projects.
- Interacting with Logan Water customers, Council branches and external agencies.
Ideally, you will have:
- Urban planning, environmental science, or related qualification.
- Industry experience in obtaining statutory approvals or development assessment.
- Exposure to the water infrastructure sector or similar is desirable.
- A basic understanding of land or easement acquisitions.
- Self-driven under limited direction, with capacity to motivate and influence others.
Mandatory:
- ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
- Appropriate degree qualifications, with relevant experience in statutory approvals, development assessment or land use planning.
