Primero is seeking experienced, motivated individuals for an ongoing contract in working on our O&M Projects Team.
Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, the role will oversee and execute all Metallurgical site-based activities for our client, to ensure plant optimisation, consistent high levels of grade recovery and industry leading safe laboratory operation. The Plant Metallurgist will ensure contract compliance and foster positive relationships between operational site teams to achieve successful outcomes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure compliance of Metallurgical Teams through best practices, process, and systems adherence.
* Manage all aspects of product quality within the processing facility
* Drive an operation model of Stability, Grade and Recovery
* Prepare and manage Metallurgical Survey Programs
* Lead, Guide and Support Metallurgical Techinicians and Production Process Operators
* Develop program for the onsite lab and external laboratories.
* Compile and drive the reporting function including, end of month, shipment reconciliation, production budget and forecasts.
* Provide engineering OPEX project proposals leading to high level reports for management and client review.
* Foster positive workplace culture and Primero Values continuously.
* Drive an integrated operations philosophy across site operational teams.
ABOUT YOU
* Experience in Dense Media Separation Process
* Previous Experience with Lithium Processing
* Can Manage metallurgical accounting, statistical analysis, engineering and project management.
* Experience with Control System SCADA
* Geomet experience in base metal mineralogy and studies is desirable.
* Excellent Safety Awareness, Risk Management & Values including familiarity with HSET practices, compliance and obligations under the WHS Act.
* Continuous Improvement mindset to drive result-based outcomes across all areas within your remit.

REQUIREMENTS
* Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy and/or Process/Chemical Engineering.
* At least 2 years experience in Wet Plant Operation as a Metallurgist.
* Excellent Computer Literacy – Proven Capabilities with Excel, Access Database, Pronto, Power BI, Minitab
* Experience in FIFO/DIDO/Shift work roster schedule is desirable.
* Experience in Contract Management (as a contract operator/contractor) is desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug and Alcohol Screen
