Job Title: Excavator/Plant Operator

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and knowledgeable multi-skilled Plant Operator to join our team. As an operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including 1.8T - 23T excavators, posi tracks, rollers, site dumpers, and 9-12T tippers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain excavators and other heavy equipment according to safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on machinery to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues. (Pre-starts)
- Safely and efficiently perform excavation, earthmoving, and material handling tasks as required by project specifications, including the ability to dig around services such as electrical lines, sewer pipes, water mains, and other underground utilities.
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings/training.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to supervisors and follow proper procedures.
- Must have a smartphone for the use of the company app for communication and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Plant Operator in the civil construction industry - MINIMUM 3 YEARS.
- Valid driver's license (HR Minimum or willing to obtain)
- Statement of Attainment for operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavator as a minimum, posi, roller etc.)
- Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Will need to pass a full medical examination, including drug and alcohol testing, as part of the hiring process.
