The Operations team is responsible for the construction, maintenance and care of Councils assets including roads, drainage, footpaths, traffic facilities, signs, graffiti removal and maintenance of sports fields, parks and reserves.

About the role:
We have vacancies for an energetic and experienced Plant Operator (Skid Steer, Loader, Backhoe, Excavator or Combination truck operator) to undertake the following responsibilities in our Civil Works team:
- Driving, loading and unloading the plant and equipment on councils beaver tail float.
- Operating the skid steer and using a range of various attachments to clear drains, load materials, sweep roads/carparks, Auger holes, spread mulch/road based materials, remove rubbish, etc.
- Operators rotate tasks, so experience on a range of plant including loader/backhoe/grader/excavator is highly regarded.
- Prior Experience in the Operation and familiarity of the day to day tasks associated with a Drain cleaning (high pressure water) and vacuum combination truck.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Current MR Driver’s licence (HR Preferred).
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Authorised Certificate of Competency as Recognised by WorkCover for all relevant plant and equipment.
- Trades Certificate and/or Completion of Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations (RII30815) or similar qualification in relevant area to operational activities.
- Extensive experience operating relevant plant and equipment, in and around underground services on roads and footpaths and in demanding situations.
- Demonstrated experience using a wide range of attachments and the ability to recommend and use as required.
- Ability to work alone and/or under limited supervision and to provide direction and guidance to other
- Work with our Team members as required to complete a delegated task.
