Moondarra Cheese is a growing cheese manufacturer in Dandenong South. A family-owned company operating for more than 22 years, we are the number one manufacturer of flavoured retail cheese products supplying all major supermarkets and export markets. We operate 24 hours, 5 days a week and have a fantastic team of people who are the lifeblood of the business.
What you will be doing:
We are seeking Two experienced Cheese Plant Operators (one for our Afternoon Shift and one for our Night Shift) to join our team and operate our fully automated cream cheese production line.
The Afternoon Shift operates from 2:30pm to 10:30pm.
The Night Shift operates from 10:30pm to 6:30am
You should be able to demonstrate that you know about the
- Standardising and Pasteurising cheese milk process
- Milk receival process
- processes to maintain and make some minor adjustments to the plant and equipment
- Cheese fermentation, production, packing and cleaning processes.
Reporting to the Cream Cheese Production Manager, the successful applicant will have experience in operating key processing equipment such as milk pasteurisers, homogenisers, separators, as well as SCADA based operating systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities, however not limited to:
- Operate fully automated equipment.
- Complete documentation and record keeping.
- Ensure machinery is cleaned, sanitised, ready for next day production and food standards are met.
- Cleaning plant surfaces by hand.
- Follow quality procedures, maintain HACCP and GMP records.
- Work with production teams, to improve efficiencies.
- Meet KPI's for yield, wastage, safety, QA, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with other shift supervisors and managers to complete tasks as set by Cream Cheese Production Manager.
- Desire to learn more. For example, maintaining and re-sealing valves.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a dairy factory.
- Pasteurisation certificate (highly desirable).
- Able to work autonomously and work on plant problem solving.
- The ability to work in a team environment, demonstrating decision making skills and initiative within agreed parameters.
- Have good knowledge of machine operation and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanically skilled to be able to complete maintenance tasks.
- Is organised, methodical and can prioritise to ensure specific goals are achieved.
