Leading engineering company looking to employ a Supervisor to oversee Lean Manufacturing & Production. Lots of career development on offer.
$130K base + super + bonus (negotiable package for the correct employee)Client:
Global Engineering and Manufacturing company that creates unique engineering solutions for a number of heavy engineering industries. They design and build a wide range of products (industrial special-purpose machinery). They have a couple of sites across the country and are looking to hire a Plant Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager.
The Job:
Operating within a Lean environment, they focus on continuous improvement/kaizen methodologies and quality improvement. The position would suit a Production / Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager with excellent planning and project management skills.
Duties:
- Conducting daily meetings to support and oversee lean Manufacturing & Production processes/methodologies at the facility
- Work with Engineers to organise daily and weekly manufacturing/production schedules, forecasting, and project resource requirements
- Drive manufacturing and production processes so the plant runs reliably and efficiently
- Direct responsibility and leadership of the Production Team, currently at 40, but numbers can increase during busy periods with contract and labour
- Provide engineering advice, Lean methodologies, continuous improvement
- Occasional hands-on maintenance and fault-find repair work
- Manage the team effectively through coaching, and training of employees
- Manage and monitor your own and team KPI’s
- Understand safety systems and be responsible for driving a safety-first culture
- Manage all work packs, and ensure delivery of all products meet the customer deadline dates
To apply you will have:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Trade qualified with 5 years + of production or manufacturing supervisory experience, someone that’s worked their way up from the tools would be a bonus as they’d understand fabrication aspects
- 5 years’ previous experience in a Lean Engineering Environment
- Strong continuous improvement / Lean / Kaizen experience
- A sound understanding of engineering principles and practice
- Ability to read engineering designs and drawings
- Knowledge of OH&S Standards
- Ability to build effective teams and manage people
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Show high levels of Emotional Intelligence
