Herrenknecht is a world-leading supplier of mechanized tunnelling machines and associated equipment for all round tunnelling solutions. Herrenknecht Australia, a subsidiary of the global organization, comprises a small team offering site support to active local tunnelling projects before, during and after TBM excavation. In house engineering capabilities allow us to work with tunnelling contractors to find solutions to unique and challenging problems related to tunnel construction.
We are currently seeking PLC Electricians to join our Australian Team.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, The PLC Electrician plays a significant role in overseeing the technical aspects for current and upcoming Tunnel Boring Machine’s (TBM) projects.
Key duties & responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Assembly of Herrenknecht TBM’s
• Assist managing clients’ electrical teams during assembly.
• PLC programming & Fault finding with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Interpret and diagnose complex electrical circuits.
• Communicate with international team.
• Training and handover equipment to client.
Qualifications, skills & experience required:
• A minimum of 3 years post-trade experience working on Herrenknecht TBM’s. (essential)
• Experience Commissioning Herrenknecht TBM’s. (essential)
• Australian or New Zealand electrical Trade with ability to achieve mutual recognition. (essential)
• Experience in tunneling or mining associated equipment (essential)
• Experience with Hydraulic circuits, Fault Find & Diagnosis. (Preferred but not essential)
• Demonstrated experience in fixed or mobile plant maintenance environment.
• Experience in working to deadlines with adaptability to changing priorities.
• An eye for detail and excellent diagnostic and repair skills.
• High risk work license / training (WAH, EWP, Dogging, Forklift). (Desirable but not essential)
• Valid Driving License (Australian or International) to travel between office and project sites.
• HR-HC Driver license (Desirable but not essential)
• Self-motivated and strong team player.
• Resourceful, meticulous and handles pressure well.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) with confidence to communicate with international stakeholders.
• Full working rights and experience in Australia is essential.
