About the Role
Step Into a Healthy Career as a Podiatrist!
Do you have a passion for helping people? Are you seeking a fulfilling career in the medical field? Our busy, well-established podiatry practice is searching for a compassionate, patient-focused podiatrist to join our team of specialists serving the Brisbane area.
As our new podiatrist, you will provide best-in-class foot and ankle care for patients of all ages, evaluating conditions and developing tailored treatment plans to restore mobility and reduce pain. We pride ourselves on spending quality one-on-one time getting to know our patients and uncovering solutions for even the most complex cases, using evidenced based practice. Most importantly, we care about making our patients smile again!
You will be a member of our Health and Wellbeing team as a Podiatrist and part of our multidisciplinary team! We have a team over 90 staff across both campuses in Sinnamon Park and Chermside. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Dietetics, Podiatry, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing and more!
Perform responsibilities and duties of the podiatrist role in a 7.5 hour work day, Monday through Friday (no weekends!). Work collaboratively with team members to execute goals and objectives for the allied health team, in an efficient and productive manner within the shorter work day schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Examine patients' feet to diagnose issues and determine appropriate courses of treatment and care
- Treat corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, heel pain, arch problems, infections, injuries and other foot conditions
- Perform partial nail removals, debridements, drainage and excision procedures when needed
- Prescribe podiatric treatments such as padding, taping, orthotics or custom shoes/braces
- Refer patients to or consult with other healthcare providers regarding conditions as appropriate
- Educate patients on proper preventative foot care, exercises, hygiene practices etc.
- Maintain patient medical records, documenting assessments, treatment plans and progress
Schedule:
- Work 7.5 hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Core hours under this role are from 8AM to 4PM with 30 minute lunch break
- No expectation to check or respond to email/communications outside of scheduled work hours
There will be a mixed case load with this opportunity, working with adults across CHSP, Home Care Package, Fee for Service, Medicare and DVA. During your week, you will also work in residential services, clients home and provide care from our wellness centres.
In this role you will deliver intervention as part of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) which aligns with the strategic goals of the Health and Wellbeing Team within Community Care and inclusion and Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ).
