Our client is an award winning, community based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the provision of health, community, social support, and aged care services. Alongside the aged care services we offer a range of allied health and wellbeing services to people of all ages.
Role Purpose
As a Podiatrist you will be responsible for the provision of quality public funded and private Podiatry services for primarily to clients of a Community Health Centre, and up to 1 day per week to Residential Aged Care clients. You will also support a multidisciplinary team involved in the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of care in individual consultations, group sessions and Health Promotion.
Responsibilities
The Podiatrist will provide quality public funded and private clinical services to the clients by:
• Assessing, planning, executing treatment/care, including recommendation for aids, equipment, and evaluating client’s treatment/care in accordance with policies, procedures & guidelines, current legislation and best practice.
• Liaising with other service providers to determine best outcomes for clients and referring on as appropriate.
• Oversee the preparation of instruments and report any process issues.
• Review instruments and recommend when replacements are required.
• Maintaining equipment and clinical supplies within the Podiatry program and reorder when needed.
• Ongoing review of the Podiatry program including monitoring of the waiting list in conjunction with the Community Health Manager.
• Completing all documentation as required by the role and funding submissions as required.
• Ensuring culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and/or disadvantaged residents receive equitable access to services.
• Planning, implementing and evaluating Health Promotion and Podiatry education activities.
Qualifications
• A tertiary qualification in Podiatry
Skills and Knowledge
• Minimum 1 years’ experience
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and professional development
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with a range of people both internal and external to the organisation
• Registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia
• Flexibility in approach to service delivery
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to your role, including Accreditation
• Computer literacy
Desirable
• Member of the Australian Podiatry Association (Vic)
• An understanding of the principles of Health Promotion
• Demonstrated ability to identify, plan and implement new service strategies
• CPR certificate, Police Check, Working with Children Check
• Knowledge of local and regional services and groups
