Your key responsibilities
The ideal applicant for the Policy and Correspondence Officer will be someone who can demonstrate the following key responsibilities as they apply to the key competencies of the role:
- Assist in the development and management of strategic policy projects through to implementation.
- Conduct research and analysis and utilise data and performance information to provide policy advice on the impacts of proposed policy reforms for VAQ.
- Assist in the development of operational policies and procedures to guide consistent service delivery across VAQ.
- Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders on proposed reforms to provide policy advice that considers potential impacts on VAQ operations and develops strategies to support implementation.
- Consult with relevant statutory bodies, departments, non-government organisations and community groups on policy matters to inform business and service delivery improvements.
- Draft submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence and policy advice, as required.
- Undertake other work as directed including administrative duties, as required.
- Completes workload within established timeframes and adjusts priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Sets priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job and responsibilities.
- Analyses information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective.
- Organises material, information and/or people in a systematic way to optimise efficiency and minimise duplication of effort.
