Policy And Program Officer | Federal Government | Canberra (Aps6)

• $55.00 - $65.00 an hour + Super
• Full time, 37.5 hour a week role
• Long term contract position 

ACM Healthcare is working on behalf of a commonwealth Government agency to work in their Canberra office, the role is full time hours (37.5) and initially a 12 month labour hire contract.

The position requires strong writing skills in areas of policy, parliamentary and other Government document preparation. Critical thinking, analytical ability, and organisational skills are required. Effective written and verbal communication are essential to the role.

Duties:

• Plan, progress and manage program related tasks (including procurement activities, contract management and invoicing)

• Experience working on complex policy matters and associated implementation
• Clear written and oral communication with a demonstrated ability to refine this for different audiences

• Provide strategic and administrative Secretariat support for external stakeholder groups managed by the team
• Support coordination requests and busy shared section mailboxes, and show judgement, initiative and sensitivity when responding to general enquiries received by the team

• Undertake other duties as directed with a willingness to contribute to a positive team culture.

• Be able to work autonomously with little direction
• You must have strong skills in high level Government and policy writing, including experience in drafting policy, briefings, parliamentary and other Governmental documents.
• Relevant experience at this level within the Australian Public Service is required.
• Baseline Security Clearance is desirable
